Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing personalized treatment plans based on patient assessments and clinical goals.
- Implement physical therapy treatments using manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modalities such as trigger point therapy.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately in electronic health records (EHR) following clinical documentation standards.
- Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers to explain treatment procedures, progress expectations, and home exercise programs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines to optimize patient care outcomes and ensure seamless care transitions.
- Maintain compliance with medical terminology standards and documentation requirements for medical documentation and physiotherapy records.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and related medical terminology.
- Proficiency in clinical assessment documentation and adherence to clinical documentation standards.
- Experience with inpatient care, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, home health services, and acute care settings.
- Skilled in manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy modalities.
- Ability to operate medical equipment safely while maintaining proper documentation of therapy sessions.
- Excellent caregiver communication skills along with client-centered approach to patient care.
- Familiarity with outpatient treatment protocols, discharge planning processes, and developing comprehensive care plans.
