Main Functions

Qualified individual who is involved in oversight of measurement systems. Various levels of involvement in calibration (tanks, tank cars, equipment, etc.) , tank gauging, gas and liquid measurement, meter proving, temperature & pressure correction for volumetric measurements and control charting (including basic concepts & applications of statistics). Responsible for providing operability and maintainability inputs and expertise for the Instruments and Controls discipline.

Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and calibrate measurement equipment.
  • Install and maintain radio equipment and ensure communication uplink.
  • Must be able to participate and understand the following: orifice/ultrasonic/turbine/Coriolis measurement, AGA Measurement Standards, Fisher ROC/ABB configurations, Radio communications, and hydrocarbon sampling for analysis.
  • Commitment to or safety culture and environmental standards.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Must be able to demonstrate the aptitude to perform and or participate in the following:
  • Set process controls in both the field and processing plants;
  • Maintain, calibrate and perform testing and preventative maintenance on said equipment;
  • Install, test, troubleshoot and run diagnostic tests on RTU equipment;
  • Test calibration and troubleshoot transmitters on communication equipment;
  • Install/test flow transmitters in the field;
  • Test and check moisture content, gravity and CO2 of gas
  • Candidate preferred to have experience installing and maintaining Fisher ROC’s and ABB gas measurement equipment and WinCCU software.
  • Previous experience in a closely related positionand/or industry experience
  • College degree required. Comparable experience is acceptable

Skill Requirement

General understanding of production equipment and process flow.

General understanding of measurement devices and equipment.

Ability to verify site facility diagrams, including complex multi-location diagrams.

Ability to follow piping and flow paths.

Ability to Read: Lease flow diagrams, site field drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and plot plans.

Ability to identify inconsistencies between SFD’s, LFD’s, P&ID’s with what is physically on site.

Ability to effectively communicate redlines/corrections to drawings.

Must be fit for duty with hot and cold conditions.

Must be detail oriented.

Knowledge of BLM regulation requirements for SFD’s would be helpful.

Knowledge of Muddy Boots Online – Schematics would be helpful.

Any schematic drawing software experience would be helpful and can translate to MBO.

Scope

Technician will verify engineering drawings to what is on the physical location and report changes to a SFD drafter. Technician will be in the field navigating oil and gas leases.
