Ally Behavior is a full-time, center-based, early intervention Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy program, serving children with autism ranging from 18 months to 6 years of age. Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide therapeutic interventions and support to clients to improve their ability to perform daily activities. This role is crucial in helping individuals regain independence and enhance their quality of life. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will be responsible for implementing treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist. This includes direct client care, documentation, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The COTA will play a vital role in client skill acquisition and progress.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in providing skilled occupational therapy services to clients in a center-based setting
  • Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Educate clients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, and compensatory strategies
  • Monitor client progress, document subjective and objective findings, and report changes in client status to the supervising OT
  • Maintain accurate and timely client records, including daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as Speech-Language Pathologists, Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Behavior Technicians, to ensure comprehensive client care
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and in-service training sessions
  • Adhere to all ethical and professional standards set forth by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and relevant state licensure boards
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the therapy department
  • Fill-in for one-to-one ABA Therapy sessions as needed
  • Due to the nature of working with young children, all clinical staff are required to change diapers, assist with toileting, and be able to physically work on the floor with children

Experiential & Certification Requirements:

  • Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
  • Current and active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure in the state(s) of hire
  • Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with early intervention and working with children with autism
  • Willingness to obtain a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, crawl, squat, run or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to reach and hold objects
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds

Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
