AWPM is based in Downtown Memphis, TN, with offices in Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL. This position is full-time onsite in Memphis, TN .
Position Summary
The Construction Field Engineer is an entry-level position in our Construction Services department. This position is responsible for assisting with obtaining, evaluating, and coordinating the necessary information to construct projects in accordance with contract documents. This role is designed to ensure that all project work meets the safety requirements, are of the highest quality, and are completed within schedule requirements.

Essential Functions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Monitor subcontractor performance and progress
- Conduct site walks and track progress
- Coordinate labor, materials, and inspections
- Support meetings and field communication
- Assist with scheduling and look-ahead planning
- Track production and identify delays
- Support quality control and inspections
- Promote and enforce safety practices
- Maintain and prepare daily reports and documentation including Daily Construction reports
- Assist Superintendent with site safety requirements and ensure subcontractor compliance.
- Perform line and grade work for building layout and control as required
- Assist in preparation of project-as-builts
Education
- Associate’s degree in construction management, Building Construction, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of construction field experience
- Mechanical or electrical experience preferred
- Basic understanding of scheduling programs preferred
- Ability to support both office-based and field-based construction efforts
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Typically works at project sites where there is exposure to moving mechanical equipment, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Required to stand for long periods; may involve heavy manual labor.
- Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items.
- Ability to be on feet while operating various equipment.
- Ability to work varying schedules.
- Ability to travel for work assignments
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
