Data Analyst

Job title:- Business Analyst required with Experience in Data analysis.

Location:- St. Louis- MO-Onsite

Type:- Contract Role.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to identify and catalog disparate data sources across the organization that are used in existing reconciliation processes.
Analyze data structures from systems including:
Internal mainframe database tables (primarily DB2, with some VSAM).
MongoDB instances.
Oracle Data Warehouses.
3rd-party vended platforms. Knowledge of specific platforms is not required only the ability to learn and work through sourcing data from them.

Additional Data Types
Banking BAI files and other financial data formats.

Additional Responsibilities
Design and document strategies for efficient data extraction, transformation, and mapping to vendor-specified schemas.
Partner with data engineers and integration teams to implement ETL pipelines and ensure data integrity.
Create data flow diagrams, source-to-target mappings, and technical documentation to support implementation and vendor onboarding.
Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external vendors to ensure alignment on data requirements and delivery timelines.
Identify risks and dependencies related to data availability, quality, and system compatibility.

Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases (Oracle, MongoDB, DB2).
Experience with legacy systems, financial data formats (e.g., BAI files), and vendor integrations.
Proficiency in data mapping, data modeling, and ETL concepts.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data cataloging tools.
Familiarity with data integration platforms (Informatica, Talend, MuleSoft).
Knowledge of financial services or banking systems.
Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Aha!
