Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover while maintaining guest comfort
- Answer phone inquiries with courteous phone etiquette and provide accurate information about wait times or reservations
- Assist guests with special requests and ensure their needs are promptly addressed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area, including menus and waiting area
- Collaborate with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction
Skills
- Previous host/hostess experience in a food service or restaurant setting preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and welcoming personality
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with guests and team members
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Experience in hospitality environments like hotels or restaurants enhances your suitability for this role
- Knowledge of guest relations principles and serving etiquette to elevate guest experiences
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism under pressure
