About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a large, multi-state organization across the U.S. and Canada. This role is responsible for accurate payroll processing, compliance, customer support, and payroll administration within Workday.

Required Qualifications

• Workday Payroll experience required.
• Bachelor's degree with 2–4 years of payroll and customer service experience, OR 5 years of progressive payroll and customer service experience.
• Multi-state payroll experience required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations and tax compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Workday Payroll Certification.
• Canadian payroll experience.
• Experience supporting union environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls accurately and on time.
• Administer payroll activities in Workday.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
• Reconcile payroll data from HR, timekeeping, and third-party systems.
• Process off-cycle payments, garnishments, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and Canadian payroll regulations.
• Partner with HR, Benefits, HRIS, Accounting, and business leaders to support payroll operations.
• Participate in payroll audits, system testing, process improvements, and year-end activities.
