Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers and specialized vehicles such as refrigerated trailers, adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes
- Ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo and FAK
- Transport cargo securely over long distances while maintaining compliance with hazardous materials regulations when applicable
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before hitting the road
- Load & unload freight (if needed) at various locations, ensuring proper truck loading and unloading techniques to prevent damage or accidents
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, inspection reports, and incident documentation in accordance with FMCSA and DOT regulations
Qualifications
- Valid 2 year minimum CDL A license with a clean driving record and proven experience in commercial truck driving
- Demonstrated experience with route driving, delivery driving, and over-the-road (OTR) routes involving diverse terrains and schedules
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently; experience with manual handling is preferred but not required
- Skilled in using GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time adjustments during deliveries
- Experience with freight logistics cargo handling, truck loading/unloading, or similar vehicles is highly desirable
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations governing hours of service (HOS), safety standards, and vehicle maintenance requirements
- Strong physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as load & unload operations; forklift certification is a plus but not required
- Excellent driving skills combined with a commitment to safety and customer service
