We’re looking for a highly organized, detail-driven Project Accountant / Job Cost Accountant to join our growing team in the steel fabrication and construction space. This is not a back-office-only accounting role — you’ll work directly with Project Managers and leadership to drive visibility into job profitability, billing accuracy, cash flow, and financial performance.
If you have strong experience with AIA/progress billing, job costing, and construction accounting, we want to talk to you.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
âś” Managing project/job cost accounting from setup through closeout
âś” Monitoring budgets, WIP schedules, cost-to-complete, and profitability
âś” Leading AIA/progress billing and pay application processes
âś” Managing accounts receivable, collections, and cash applications
âś” Supporting month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
âś” Coordinating lien waivers, notices to owners, and compliance documentation
âś” Partnering closely with Project Managers and company leadership
âś” Helping improve processes and financial visibility across projects
What We’re Looking For
Non-Negotiables
- Experience with AIA / draw / progress billing
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience in job cost accounting within construction, manufacturing, fabrication, or other project-based industries
- 3 years of relevant accounting experience
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in steel fabrication or construction
- Experience with Foundation Software or similar construction accounting systems
- Strong Excel skills
