Position Summary
The Unarmed Shift Lead is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing daily field operations, supervising security personnel, and delivering training programs. This individual ensures operational excellence, enforces compliance with company standards and BSIS regulations, and supports employee development through training and coaching. The role combines supervisory site duties with structured training responsibilities to support overall service delivery and workforce readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Lead
- Provide direct field supervision and guidance to assigned security officers.
- Conduct routine site inspections to ensure post compliance, officer performance, and professional appearance.
- Respond promptly to client concerns, incidents, and operational issues by providing on-site leadership and resolution.
- Serve as a liaison between field officers and management while maintaining open lines of communication.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations based on field audits and inspections.
Training & Development
- Conduct site-specific training based on post orders, emergency procedures, and client requirements.
- Provide remedial training and performance coaching as needed to improve officer effectiveness.
- Assist with the development and revision of training materials and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with BSIS regulations.
Operational Support
- Participate in investigations, incident follow-up, and disciplinary processes in coordination with Operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Must possess a valid California BSIS Guard Card.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of security experience, with 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of California security operations and BSIS compliance standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual is a plus.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective training sessions.
- Proficient in report writing, incident documentation.
- Must possess a valid California driver's license, maintain a clean driving record, and have reliable transportation.
