Unarmed Security Officer - Retail (San Francisco, CA)

Schedule:

• 11:00-7:00 PM Monday - Saturday
• 11:00- 5:00 PM Sundays

Position Summary:

The Security Officer provides a visible, professional, and courteous presence within a high-traffic retail environment. The primary objective is to deter theft and disruptive behavior through professional conduct and customer engagement, while maintaining a safe environment for employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Deterrence

• Greet and engage customers in a professional manner
• Maintain a visible presence to deter theft and misconduct
• Assist store staff and customers as needed
• Use customer-service-based approaches to deter theft in a non-confrontational manner
• Represent company and client standards at all times

Patrol and Monitoring

• Conduct routine patrols of interior and exterior areas
• Observe and report suspicious activity or policy violations
• Remain alert and attentive throughout the shift

Incident Response and Reporting

• Report incidents, emergencies, or criminal activity immediately
• Complete Daily Activity Reports and Incident Reports accurately
• Cooperate with management and emergency responders as needed

Loss Prevention Support

• Observe and report theft or suspicious behavior
• Follow strict observe-and-report procedures
• Do not detain, pursue, or physically engage with suspects

Professional Standards

• Arrive on time in full uniform with required equipment
• Maintain professional appearance and demeanor
• Limit personal phone use while on duty
• Follow all company and client policies

Requirements:

• Valid California BSIS Guard Card
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

Preferred Experience:

• Retail security or customer-facing roles
• Experience with de-escalation and customer interaction

Work Environment:

High-traffic retail environment requiring continuous interaction with the public and store personnel. Officers must maintain awareness, professionalism, and adaptability throughout the shift.

Additional Information:

• Site transition begins May 3, 2026
• Must be available for full assigned schedule
