The Retreat Community Post Commander & LieutenantJob Summary:The Retreat Community Post Commander and Leiutenant is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing daily field operations, supervising security personnel, and delivering training programs across the assigned client site. This individual ensures operational excellence, enforces compliance with company standards, BSIS regulations, and supports employee development through training and coaching. The role combines supervisory field duties with structured training responsibilities to support overall service delivery and workforce readiness.Key Responsibilities:Field SupervisionProvides direct supervision and training for supervisors and security officersProvide direct field supervision and guidance to assigned security officers across multiple client sitesConduct routine site inspections to ensure post compliance, officer performance, and uniform appearanceRespond promptly to client concerns, incidents, or operational issues; provide on-site leadership and resolutionServe as a liaison between field officers and management, maintaining open lines of communicationPrepare detailed reports and recommendations based on field audits and inspectionsTraining & DevelopmentDelivers in-service training for assigned field supervisors and security officers in compliance with BSIS standardsConduct site-specific training based on post orders, emergency protocols, and client requirementsProvide remedial training and performance coaching as needed to improve officer effectivenessAssist with the development and revision of training materials and SOPs in accordance with BSIS regulationsMaintain accurate training records, certifications, and documentation for compliance auditsOperational Support Assist with scheduling, staffing adjustments, and shift coverage during emergencies or staffing shortagesCollaborate with Account Managers, Operations Managers, HR, and Recruiting to support field-level onboarding and candidate assessmentsParticipate in investigations, incident follow-up, and disciplinary processes in coordination with HR and Operations teamsQualifications:High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferredMust possess a valid California Guard Card issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS)BSIS Firearms Permit (preferred if required by site duties)Completion of BSIS-mandated training: Powers to Arrest and Weapons of Mass DestructionAdditional BSIS-required continuing education certificates (e.g., Annual Refresher Training)Minimum 3–5 years of security industry experience, with 1–2 years in a supervisory or training capacityStrong knowledge of California security operations and BSIS compliance standardsExcellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual a plusAbility to develop and deliver engaging training sessions to small and large groupsProficient in report writing, incident documentation, and Microsoft Office SuiteMust have a valid California driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportationWork Environment & Schedule:Field-based with frequent travel to client sites across the regionFlexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededOn-call availability for emergency response and supportPhysical Requirements:Must be able to stand or walk for extended periodsMay be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionallyAbility to work in various environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor)
