Overview
We are seeking for a knowledgeable MEDICAL BILLER for CLINICAL/REFERENCE LABORATORY, with MINIMUM 3 YEARS OF LAB BILLING EXPERIANCE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating the collection of payments for medical services. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing practices. The Medical Biller will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our medical practice while ensuring compliance with regulations.
Duties
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding systems.
- Process patient billing and claims submissions to insurance companies.
- Review and resolve discrepancies in medical records and billing statements.
- Conduct follow-ups on outstanding claims and manage collections for unpaid accounts.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding practices.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to manage patient information efficiently.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation and coding accuracy.
- Stay informed about changes in medical billing regulations and coding guidelines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or collections within a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to interpret medical records effectively.
- Experience with EMR and EHR systems is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, and compliance regulations related to medical billing.
