What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garage Door Technician position at Allstar Garage Door LLC?
If you are mechanical and enjoy a daily change of scenery being a garage door technician/installer is the perfect job for you! Our technicians travel around Indiana, Blair, Westmorland, Armstrong, and Allegheny counties daily for installs and service. Technicians/installers will be installing, repairing, and servicing garage doors and garage door operators. Technicians will also be installing and working on roll up doors as well. No education is required, however we do require mechanical/construction experience. Garage door installation experience is preferred but not required, we will provide garage door specific training. Technicians must be able to bend, kneel, and lift up to a minimum of 75 pounds. Technicians must be comfortable with heights and on ladders. We REQUIRE a valid drivers license. Our technicians must be friendly and have good customer service, communication, and problem solving skills. Benefits include matching retirement up to a certain dollar value, 10 days of PTO to start, annual holiday bonus of $2500.00 and performance bonus's.
Pay structure is hourly for service and piece work for installation. A full-time proficient residential technician can generally expect to earn an additional $4,000-$6,000 in piece work per year. While a full-time proficient commercial technician can expect an additional $8000-$11,000 per year in piece work.
Additionally, We do install pedestrian entry doors both residential and commercial. On occasion you may be asked to help out on those installations as a second hand. If it is something that interests you and you become proficient in installing and servicing pedestrian doors it will create a pathway for more vertical growth within the company and additional pay.
