- Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed bid proposals and pricing strategies.
- Conduct thorough site visits to gather on-the-ground insights and assess potential risks or challenges.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to negotiate contracts, scope of work, and pricing terms that align with project goals.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the construction process to ensure cost control and identify opportunities for savings.
- Assist in the review and management of construction contracts, change orders, and scope adjustments.
- Support project management teams by providing accurate cost data that informs scheduling, resource allocation, and procurement decisions.
Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating tools such as RS MEANS, STACK and Bluebeam is essential.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms while maintaining positive relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, site management, and safety protocols gained through hands-on construction site experience.
- Expertise in cost control techniques, pricing strategies, and budget management within commercial projects.
- Knowledge of contract administration including drafting, reviewing, and managing contractual obligations.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.
