Mechanical Engineer - Mechanical Construction - Base Salary to 110k/year - Franklin, TN
- Our client is an established mechanical contractor with more than 80 years of experience providing mechanical construction and design-build services throughout multiple states. They specialize in commercial, government, healthcare, industrial, and institutional facilities and are seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer to join their Design-Build team.
- This full-time role is responsible for engineering design, technical leadership, and engineering support for complex building mechanical systems. The successful candidate will serve as the Engineer of Record while collaborating with internal project teams to deliver high-quality mechanical engineering solutions from concept through construction.
Responsibilities:
- Design commercial and industrial HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems for Design-Build construction projects.
- Serve as Engineer of Record for assigned projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and project requirements.
- Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, and system analysis.
- Conduct facility evaluations and develop engineering recommendations and solution narratives for clients.
- Support preconstruction and business development efforts through drawing reviews, site evaluations, code research, engineering clarifications, energy audits, and technical consultation.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the design process while coordinating with internal project teams to successfully deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience designing complex commercial and/or industrial building HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain Tennessee PE licensure.
- Experience with Design-Build project delivery.
- Experience preparing construction drawings, engineering calculations, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of applicable mechanical, plumbing, and building codes and industry standards.
- Experience performing HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, and facility system evaluations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 80k - 110k/year range
