Account Manager - Construction Tool Distribution - Base Salary to 130k/year - Montclair, CA
- Our client is a well-established manufacturer and distributor of professional-grade construction products serving national retail customers throughout the United States. They are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join their team onsite in Montclair, CA. This role focuses on managing existing national retail accounts, supporting product line growth, coordinating with buyers, and driving revenue expansion through strategic account management.
- This is a fully onsite position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow relationships with established national retail and big box accounts
- Serve as the primary point of contact for retail buyers and procurement teams
- Negotiate pricing, discounts, product assortment expansions, and other commercial terms
- Support product launches, line extensions, and new product introductions
- Coordinate with internal teams regarding inventory planning, logistics, forecasting, and supply chain requirements
- Analyze sales performance, pricing, margins, and product trends to support account growth initiatives
- Develop presentations, reports, and business reviews for retail customers
- Utilize data and sales metrics to support product placement, shelf space retention, and category growth opportunities
- Maintain accurate account records, forecasts, and customer communications
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in National Account Management, Inside Sales, Category Management, Corporate Sales Support, Retail Account Management, or related customer-facing commercial roles serving national retail chain stores
- Experience working with large retail or big box customers and a strong understanding of retail procurement procedures and buying processes
- Experience supporting product marketing initiatives, product development activities, account management, and customer service functions
- Experience communicating directly with retail buyers and managing established customer accounts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience utilizing pricing matrices, margin analysis worksheets, logistics tracking tools, sales reporting, forecasting, and customer presentations
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 80k–130k/year range
