Duties
- Set up, operate, and monitor progressive die stamping presses to produce metal parts according to technical specifications.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate tooling and machine setup.
- Perform routine inspections of tools, dies, and machinery to maintain optimal operation and prevent downtime.
- Adjust machine parameters and tooling configurations.
- Conduct quality control checks utilizing measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions.
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to safety protocols during machine operation, including proper use of hand tools, cranes, and forming machines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly, perform basic repairs or coordinate with maintenance teams for more complex repairs.
- Document production data accurately, including shift reports, quality inspections, and equipment maintenance logs.
Skills
- Proven experience operating progressive die stamping presses in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math.
- Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measurement tools for quality inspection.
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments.
- Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings for precise fabrication work.
- Strong commitment to safety protocol adherence while maintaining high standards of quality in every part produced.
