Company overview

Alloyed is a young venture-funded company of around 150 world-class metallurgists, mechanical engineers, technicians, and software developers working across three offices in the UK and one in the US, building the future of advanced metal components. We use proprietary software packages which combine advanced machine learning and physical modelling, as well as extensive experimental facilities, to 3D print metal components better and faster than anyone else.

At our premises in Seattle, WA we are aiming to build the world’s fastest, smartest, and best-equipped facility for the production of additively manufactured parts for the aerospace and industrial sectors.

The Role

Alloyed is seeking a motivated individual to join its energetic, growing team as an Additive Manufacturing Technician, where your main responsibility will be to produce and process a variety of high-performance parts.

You will work closely with engineers and technicians, ensuring that the work is carried out according to schedule and that technical challenges are quickly tackled.

You will be based at our facility in South Seattle. Training will be provided where required (some travel may required).

Responsibilities

  • Operating and maintaining additive manufacturing, post processing and metrology equipment adhering to AS9100D aerospace standard.
  • Communicating with engineers to understand their needs, scheduling and performing work accordingly.
  • Supporting the development of efficient work procedures.
  • Participating in the development and operation of the company’s in-house capabilities.
  • Maintaining good health and safety practices.

Essential

  • Hands-on attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Organised and able to work independently, but also to collaborate with a diverse, fast-moving team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Capacity to work safely in an environment containing hazardous elements
  • Capable of working with commitment and determination to meet challenging objectives

Desirable

  • Experience in operating and maintaining precision engineering equipment.
  • Experience with metal additive manufacturing (ideally Renishaw or SLM machines).
  • Experience working under a Quality Management System.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours if needed.
