This is not just a senior individual contributor role — it is a clear path to leading your own team of engineers and designers within approximately two years. If you are technically strong, detail-driven, collaborative by nature, a hands-on problem-solver, and eager to grow into an engineering leadership position, this role was built for you.

Position Overview

The Senior Mechanical Engineer supports the design, development, and production of stainless-steel tanks and related systems. This role requires strong expertise in metal fabrication, pressure vessel design, and process engineering. Experience with semiconductor ultra-clean fabrication standards and sanitary design for pharmaceutical applications is a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design

  • Design and analyze stainless-steel tanks and pressure vessels ensuring ASME code compliance, proper material selection, and welding standards.
  • Create and review engineering drawings, 3D models, and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct stress analysis, tolerance studies, and design-for-manufacturability evaluations.
  • Support and improve CAD modeling practices, design standardization, and engineering workflows.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Operations and Sales to ensure designs meet project requirements, cost targets, and production timelines.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in customer-specific engineering discussions and assist with custom design requirements.

Process & Product Improvement

  • Recommend and implement manufacturing improvements to enhance product quality, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to materials, welding processes, and fabrication techniques.
  • Support new product development for food & beverage, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor industries.

Compliance & Regulatory

  • Ensure designs meet ISO 9001 standards, safety guidelines, and environmental requirements.
  • Working knowledge of CE, SELO, ASME, and related regulations.
  • Support documentation related to UN/DOT shipping regulations for hazardous materials and international transport compliance.

Industry-Specific Expertise

  • Support design engineering for ultra-pure chemical storage and delivery systems used in semiconductor fabrication.
  • Apply cleanroom and contamination-control requirements as needed.
  • Utilize sanitary design principles for food and pharmaceutical applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in metal fabrication, pressure vessels, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
  • 2 years of project or people leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of stainless-steel properties, welding processes (TIG/MIG), and ASME pressure vessel standards.
  • Proficiency with CAD and 3D modeling; ERP system familiarity is a plus.
  • Experience with UN shipping regulations and hazardous-material transport requirements (preferred).
  • Familiarity with semiconductor-industry standards and contamination-control requirements (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

What We're Looking For

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to doing things right the first time.
  • Solutions-focused and patient when challenges arise.
  • Approachable, collaborative, and effective working across departments.
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and eager to grow into an engineering leadership role.
  • Resilient and adaptable in a changing environment.

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance — self-funded plan with low premiums and out-of-pocket costs.
  • 401(k) with Traditional and Roth options — 100% company match on the first 5%.
  • Profit-sharing opportunities and free financial counseling.
  • Tuition reimbursement, on-the-job training, and career advancement from within.
  • 9.5 paid holidays, 3 personal days, 5 sick days, and vacation based on tenure.
