Information Technology (IT) Specialist

Allocate
Palo Alto, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 7/9/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/7/2026
Overview

Allocate is transforming private market investing by enabling RIAs and family offices to seamlessly discover, model, and manage their private market exposure. Our platform combines curated fund and co-investment opportunities with institutional-grade infrastructure, serving clients across venture capital, private equity, private credit, and other private asset classes — backed by powerful tracking, analytics, and administration tools.

We are seeking a dedicated IT Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will manage system upgrades, resolve user queries, and optimize our technology infrastructure to align with business goals. As an integral part of our operations, you will drive efficiency and innovation while safeguarding our digital assets. If you are passionate about technology and thrive on IT driven innovation, we encourage you to apply. We offer a collaborative work culture, meaningful opportunities for professional development, and a competitive benefits package.

About The Role

This is a generalist IT role with meaningful depth expectations across three core areas: day-to-day troubleshooting and end-user support; systems and infrastructure management spanning SaaS, IdP, and MDM; and security-adjacent operations supporting our SOC 2 compliance posture. You will serve as the primary internal IT point of contact for an in-office and remote workforce of 80 employees, while also coordinating execution with our managed service partner (MSP) on infrastructure and support tasks.

Security is not a separate workstream in this role, it is the operating standard applied to every IT task, from provisioning to asset management to vendor coordination. The right candidate moves fluidly between tactical support tickets and strategic systems work, brings a security-aware mindset to everything they do, and is energized by operating in a fast-moving, high-growth fintech environment.

Essential Responsibilities And Duties

End-User Support

  • Provide Tier 1/2 support across hardware, software, and SaaS applications for in-office and remote workforce
  • Assist MSP with new user device, account, and software/application provisioning
  • Respond to technical support tickets from employees facing technical difficulties
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, access, and productivity tool issues (Google Workspace, Slack, and core SaaS tools)
  • Conduct guidance sessions on IT tools, security practices, and system usage
  • Maintain internal IT documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles

Systems & Infrastructure

  • Support onboarding, offboarding and management of user accounts, permissions, and access controls across IT systems and the company's SaaS footprint
  • Support provisioning and deprovisioning across the company's SaaS application footprint
  • Install, update, and maintain software applications, ensuring compatibility and data security
  • Perform routine resource optimization to maximize license and reduce operational costs
  • Coordinate with vendors for device purchases, warranties, and external support services
  • Maintain and improve IT asset inventory and hardware tracking processes
  • Coordinate with the MSP partner on escalations, infrastructure tasks, and project execution

Security Operations & Compliance

  • Support the Information Security program by assisting in access reviews documentation, MFA enforcement, and endpoint compliance checks
  • Assist in maintaining evidence for SOC 2 Type II compliance (Security, Availability, and Confidentiality trust service criteria)
  • Analyze data from logs to improve performance and proactively identify risks
  • Monitor and respond to alerts from endpoint management and security tooling
  • Participate in security initiatives, as needed under the direction of the Information Security
  • Help enforce IT and security policies and contribute to policy documentation as needed

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3–5 years of demonstrable experience as an IT Specialist, IT Administrator, or in a technical support, system analysis, or network administration role
  • Proficiency in operating systems: macOS, iOS, Windows and common network technologies
  • Hands-on experience administering Google Workspace (user management, Groups, directory, OAuth app controls and environmental hardening)
  • Familiarity with SaaS access management and SSO concepts (SAML, SCIM, OAuth)
  • Knowledge of network administration protocols, firewalls, and IT security best practices
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and data protection practices
  • Familiarity with IT help desk systems and ticketing tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware, software, and cloud applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills to handle concurrent tasks efficiently

Preferred Skills And Qualifications

  • Relevant professional certifications: CompTIA A , Network , Security , Google IT Support Professional
  • Experience supporting or contributing to a SOC 2 audit or compliance program
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks for IT service management
  • Experience with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools
  • Experience coordinating with a managed service provider (MSP) in a hybrid support model
  • Exposure to fintech, financial services, or other regulated industries

Essential Values & Culture

Providing our clients with a world-class experience is our number one priority. We obsessively search for ways to improve the experience for our clients and partners. This requires extraordinary response times, proactivity, and ensuring that everything we do — from product strategy to offline communications — reflects a top-tier client experience.

  • Challenge convention: Instead of detailing all the reasons why an idea may not work, we constantly question things to determine how a viable idea may be put into motion.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement: We find ways to personally scale each day by pushing ourselves up the learning curve.
  • Meritocracy, not politics: We place the utmost value on results and rewards through merit, not reward actions driven by political agendas or behavior.
  • Civil Discourse is embraced: We believe open, intellectually curious conversations are required to consistently arrive at the best decisions. Respect is paramount in our dealings with one another, but our mission is always to get the right answer collectively, not to be right.
  • Embrace technological change: We adopt tools and techniques that make us faster, smarter, and better. We stay open to innovation, especially around AI and automation, and drop outdated methods without hesitation. This includes actively integrating AI-assisted tools into your daily workflow and staying current as the landscape evolves. Complacency kills progress — we value adaptability and curiosity.
