Job Description
We are looking for a passionate, self-motivated, and dedicated candidate with field experience as a commercial electrician as well as Electrical BIM / VDC.
You must be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
If you do not have 5 years of electrical commercial field experience or 2 years as a VDC Coordinator for an electrical contractor, please do not apply.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Ability to follow direction from VDC Mangers and Project Leads to model all electrical components in Revit.
- Develop and maintain detailed Electrical models in Revit based on the Contract Drawings, Specifications and NEC requirements.
- Coordinate electrical systems with all other trade partners using Navisworks and Autodesk Forma.
- Create highly detailed shop, install and prefabrication drawings for field and prefab use.
- Maintain accurate as-built models throughout the life of the project.
Required Technical Skills:
- 2 years of experience using Revit to model commercial electrical projects
- Proficient in modeling electrical systems, including conduit, equipment, supports, and related components in Revit
- Experience working under tight deadlines with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Strong computer proficiency with an emphasis on file management and organization
- Familiarity with Bluebeam and Trimble Layout software
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Forma / BIM Collaborate Pro, Navisworks and Evolve (preferred)
- Experience with modular construction and prefabrication processes
- Excellent communication skills for both internal team collaboration and external client interactions
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
What success looks like:
Commercial electrical field experience (5 years)
This is foundational because it provides practical knowledge of installation methods and jobsite realities.
Electrical Revit/BIM modeling experience
Direct experience modeling electrical systems is essential.
Experience with an electrical contractor
Electrical contractors with electrical specialization
Knowledge of BIM coordination tools
Experience with Navisworks, Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro/Forma, Trimble Layout, and Evolve adds value.
