Service Technician Electrician - Charleston, SC metro area

Compensation and Benefits:
- Pay rate begins at a minimum equivalent to IBEW Local Union 776 Foreman rate along
- Medical and 401k
Pre-Employment:
Ability to pass the following pre-employment requirements:
- Drug test
- Background check (Level 2 from an approved provider)
- Note: Required due to involvement in projects with heightened security requirements
Description Overview:
- This is a full-time, on-site position for a Service Technician specializing in electrical services for commercial construction.
- The Service Technician will handle day-to-day tasks such as performing maintenance and repair of electrical systems, troubleshooting technical issues, providing field service, and delivering excellent customer service.
- The position requires strong technical skills and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards on all projects.
General Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
Key Requirements:
- IBEW Local Union Membership
- Clean driving record
- Must meet Allison-Smith's Insurance driving eligibility requirements:
- Minimum Age: 21 years old
- Valid Driver's License
Key Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Customer Service skills to effectively interact with clients
- Expertise in Maintenance and Repair of electrical systems
- Experience in Field Service operations and handling on-site electrical tasks
- Relevant electrical certifications and licensures are preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team
- Understanding of maintenance practices and safety protocols in commercial construction
