Job Description: Supports and supervises sterile processing personnel to ensure optimal support of operating rooms and other departments with sterile processing needs. Principle Responsibilities Leadership of daily operations. Provides direction and leadership to support sterile processing to assess, plan, implement and evaluate delivery of support services. Interviews and recommends hiring of personnel. Assists with coordinating orientation of personnel. Provides feedback and coaching for staff performance. Provides opportunities for staff development. Conducts annual performance reviews for assigned staff. Conducts regular staff meetings. Identifies and monitors cost-effective use of resources. Monitors daily feedback from operating room. Designs work processes and directs work performance in compliance with rules, regulations, accreditation standards and laws. Demonstrates awareness of health and safety information. Recognizes and reports potential and actual work hazards. Complies with regulatory agencies standards. Coordinates services between surgical services and other hospital support services. Facilitates the repair of surgical equipment. Directs/coordinates the resources and services in support of direct patient care services. Accountable for the developing, maintaining of support resources of surgical services. Assists in the future growth of surgical services. Develops and maintains policies and procedures for areas of work. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Associate's or Vocational degree in sterile processing or health care related field 2 to 5 years in sterile processing Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in health care or business related field 2 to 5 years in a supervisory role Licenses/Certifications Certified Sterile Processing Technician - The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) within 1 Year Physical Demands Medium Work: Lifting weight up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently Pay Range Pay Range: $31.07 to $42.59 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
