Key Position Details: 0.9 FTE (72 hours per two-week pay period) 9-hour day/evening shifts M-Th 7:00-4:30, Friday's Off No weekends Job Description: Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Sleep Center, including setup and maintenance of quality programs for test acquisition, review of quality of acquisitions and scoring, troubleshooting equipment and acting as a technical resource for staff, patients and physicians. Assists with hiring, evaluating and training of staff as well as coordinating patient scheduling and study preparation. Principle Responsibilities Oversees daily operations and program oversite Develops policies, procedures, forms and training criteria. Assists in selection, training and assessment of staff. Clinical resource for Polysomnographic information. Assists in equipment/supply evaluation/selection, troubleshooting and following up on equipment, software and hardware. Orders and maintains supply inventory. Involved in marketing to the community and referral sources. Responsible for Polysomnographic scoring and follow up Prepares and calibrates equipment and physiological calibrations for testing. Applies electrodes, monitors accordingly, ensures artifact free recordings and documents values for any clinical event during testing. Identifies normal and abnormal data for respiratory and cardiac events, limb movements, arousals and EEG. Scores Polysomnograms, downloads/stores data and generates reports prior to follow up appointment. Patient education and record management Explains importance of testing procedure, orients patient to center and explains all paperwork before and after testing. Educate patients on sleep disorders, testing procedures, operation of sleep disorder equipment and ensures compliance. Verify medical order/protocol, complete all technical paperwork. Complete appropriate paperwork and billing procedures. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Associate's or Vocational degree in Health Sciences or, successful completion of a polysomnography program with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility or, meets Board Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT) standards for a sleep technologist or, equivalent experience with documented proficiency in all required competencies of a Polysomnographic Technologist 2 to 5 years working as a Polysomnographic Technologist and conducting sleep studies and test scoring. Licenses/Certifications BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hire Board Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BPRT) Board Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BPRT) required upon hire Physical Demands Light Work: Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently Pay Range Pay Range: $34.83 to $47.74 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
