Allient Inc. is in growth mode and currently seeking an Assistant Engineer to join our team in Oshkosh, Wisconsin!
The Assistant Engineer assists with order processing, engineering documentation, and day-to-day Engineering activities. This position works across the Engineering department based on team needs to maintain documentation, track active orders and projects, assist with engineering activities, and help improve departmental processes and efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Run and process orders and maintain documentation associated with active orders.
- Assist engineers with day-to-day duties and activities based on departmental needs.
- Print, update, review, and correct documents, labels, bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, and related documentation.
- Review drawings and documentation for accuracy and completeness as a secondary check.
- Update blueprints and related documentation as assigned.
- Take notes during meetings and maintain project completion status and follow-up items.
- Maintain Engineering boards, project tracking tools, and related information.
- Coordinate with IT and other departments as needed to maintain and improve Engineering tools and processes.
- Work to improve Engineering completion times, documentation, and processes.
- Work with staff across departments to eliminate unnecessary paperwork and streamline processes.
- Perform other Engineering and administrative duties as assigned based on departmental needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or currently pursuing a related degree with demonstrated progress toward completion.
- 3–5 years of related experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read, review, and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, blueprints, bills of materials (BOMs), labels, and related records.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, discrepancies, and missing information.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP, engineering, or manufacturing systems preferred.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to support process and efficiency improvements.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to work independently within established procedures and seek guidance on complex or technical matters as appropriate.
