Behavioral Health Coordinator Clerk (Contract-to-Hire)

Pay: $27 per hour

AlliedUP is hiring a Behavioral Health Coordinator Clerk to support administrative and data management operations for our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) partner in Oakland, CA. This role is key to maintaining accurate patient records, supporting behavioral health providers, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and update databases for behavioral health caseloads, appointments, and patient activity

• Enter and validate data in EHR systems (Epic, SmartCare, etc.)

• Support providers with documentation, scheduling, and record management

• Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics

• Safeguard all Protected Health Information (PHI) per HIPAA guidelines

• Assist with appointment scheduling, reminders, and follow-ups

• Generate reports to support clinical and operational performance

• Participate in process improvement and quality initiatives

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• 2 years of experience in a Behavioral Health or mental-health clinical setting required

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

• Experience EPIC and Smart Care required.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Credentialing & Compliance:
