Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week contract in Tacoma, WA. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions, ensuring effective treatment and patient safety in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and breathing treatments
• Manage ventilators and airway support equipment
• Perform diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gases (ABGs) and pulmonary function tests
• Respond to emergency situations, including code blue and rapid response calls
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and treatment plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Active Washington state Respiratory Therapist license
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (preferred)
• Current BLS, ACLS (AHA preferred); PALS/NRP preferred based on facility needs
• Strong knowledge of respiratory care procedures and equipment
• Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
