Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Permanent Position
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy services that help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and overall functional ability. The PTA implements treatment plans designed to restore function, reduce pain, and promote independence.
Key Responsibilities
Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, gait training, and balance activities.
Utilize therapy equipment and modalities according to the established treatment plan.
Observe and report patient responses to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and safety techniques to support continued progress outside of therapy sessions.
Assist with the progression or modification of treatment activities based on patient tolerance and progress.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with the rehabilitation team and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
Ensure treatment areas and equipment are maintained in a safe and organized manner.
Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (or eligibility).
Strong communication and patient care skills.
Ability to work effectively under the direction of a Physical Therapist and as part of a healthcare team.
