Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures following physician orders and departmental protocols
- Prepare patients for CT examinations by explaining procedures, reviewing medical history, and ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Position patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images
- Administer contrast media safely while monitoring patients for any adverse reactions
- Operate CT scanners and related imaging equipment while maintaining image quality standards
- Evaluate completed scans for diagnostic quality before submitting them for radiologist interpretation
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate patient documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS
- Follow radiation safety guidelines, infection prevention protocols, and departmental policies
- Perform routine quality control checks and report equipment maintenance concerns
- Provide compassionate care to patients during routine and emergency imaging procedures
Requirements
- Active Nebraska Radiologic Technologist License (if required by state regulations)
- ARRT Certification in Radiography (R) required
- ARRT Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) preferred or required by the facility
- Minimum 2 years of recent CT Technologist experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- Experience performing a wide variety of CT procedures in an acute care hospital
- Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, contrast administration, and radiation safety
- Experience using PACS and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient care skills
- Ability to work efficiently during night shifts in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging department
