Surgical Tech – Operating Room (OR) | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Redwood City, CA
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for a fast-paced Operating Room. The Surgical Tech will assist the surgical team by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, organizing surgical instruments, and supporting surgeons during a variety of procedures. Candidates should be comfortable working in a high-volume acute care setting and be flexible with scheduling and call requirements.
Assignment Details
- 13-week travel assignment
- Day shifts with 10-hour varied schedules
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Variable shift start times between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM
- No regular evening or weekend shifts
- On-call requirement: 1 shift per week and every 4th weekend
- No floating required
- Orientation includes one week of hospital onboarding and one week with a preceptor
- Documentation system: Cerner Surginet

- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room (OR) experience
- BLS Certification required
- COVID vaccination required
- Experience scrubbing a variety of surgical specialties preferred
- Cerner Surginet experience strongly preferred
- Experience with orthopedic procedures is highly desirable
- Candidates with robotic and cardiovascular surgical experience are preferred for those specialty cases
- Ability to maintain a sterile field and anticipate surgeon needs throughout procedures
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary surgical environment
