Security Officer - Visitor Screening

As a Security Officer - Visitor Screening in Ridgeland, MS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer at an education location, you will manage access control at key entry points, verify badges and/or credentials, and support visitor sign-in using a computer or tablet. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and report concerns with clear communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Manage access control at designated entry points by checking identification, issuing visitor passes, directing guests to approved check-in areas, and documenting entry and exit activity per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency services as needed and completing incident reports.
• Monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, alarms, and access control panels, and report irregular activity, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations through the appropriate channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, common areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or other suspicious activity; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Minimum Requirements:

• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
