Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Presence

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Presence in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support access control with clear, professional communication. You will engage respectfully with staff and visitors, document observations, and respond to concerns as part of a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative, putting people first and acting with integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to site staff, residents, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout government facility interiors and exterior perimeter areas, observing for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter incidents.
• Monitor access points, check identification and/or authorized entry lists as required, and direct visitors to appropriate areas according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from site management and/or public emergency services when needed.
• Complete incident reports, shift activity logs, and patrol documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift turnovers.

Minimum Requirements:

• Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
