Security Officer - Screening Specialist

As a Screener in a government location, you will help support a professional, welcoming environment by screening visitors and belongings, monitoring access points, and responding to security-related concerns with strong communication and customer service. Pay Rate: $30.55 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
• Screen visitors, staff, and/or personal belongings in accordance with site protocols, reporting concerns and directing individuals through established entry procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting security-related activities and communicating with site contacts as needed.
• Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by verifying authorization, observing visitor activity, and following required screening measures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around designated areas and perimeter locations, noting unusual conditions and reporting maintenance, access, and/or security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Proof of high school diploma or GED is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
