Security Officer - Retail Patrol

As a Security Officer - Mall Patrol Specialist in Bakersfield, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols throughout a retail location. You will remain highly visible, engage with visitors, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining strong communication. This position requires driving as part of your responsibilities. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by performing security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including responding to emergencies when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a secure environment for all individuals at the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter undesirable activity and to observe for any unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas, reporting any suspicious behavior or situations to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control by verifying credentials and/or directing visitors as needed within the retail environment.
• Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to site protocols.
• Work collaboratively with store staff and Allied Universal team members to maintain a welcoming atmosphere while supporting loss prevention efforts.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
