Security Officer - Access Control

As a Security Officer - Access Control in Portland, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer at an aero and defense location, you will support access control operations by greeting personnel and visitors, verifying credentials, issuing and checking badges, and logging activity using a computer and/or tablet. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to reduce security-related incidents, and provide clear, professional communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to site employees, contractors, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Staff access control points to help manage entry and exit, verify identification and credentials, issue and/or track temporary badges, and direct authorized personnel to approved areas.
• Screen and process visitors, deliveries, and service vendors per site procedures, complete visitor logs and access records, and escalate irregularities through the chain of command.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and assisting with site response procedures as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, restricted areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured doors, or policy concerns, with working environments and conditions varying by post assignment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
