Job Description

As a Security Guard - Flex Patrol Rounds in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds on foot, remain highly visible to help discourage incidents, and respond to alarms, calls for service, and security-related concerns. You will greet students, faculty, staff, and visitors with professional customer service, clear communication, and integrity, while supporting an agile, reliable, and innovative team culture at Allied Universal.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of buildings, residence areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to identify unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Monitor access points and common areas, observe for unauthorized entry, and assist with visitor directions and campus-related inquiries while maintaining a professional presence.
• Respond to alarms, disturbances, medical calls, and other incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus personnel and/or local responders as needed.
• Document patrol activity and incidents in required reports, communicate observations to site leadership, and support security-related investigations by preserving information and/or evidence as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
