Juvenile Correctional Security Officer - Patrol Access

As a Juvenile Correctional Security Officer - Patrol Access in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a government location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support daily operations through professional communication and a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. This is a driving post. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and/or contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor entrances, exits, gates, and/or screening points to help control authorized access, verify credentials, and document visitor activity in accordance with site protocols.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and public agencies as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, access concerns, and/or security-related policy violations.
• Prepare logs, incident reports, and other required documentation related to access activity, observations, and/or security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
