Scheduler I–III – Nuclear Power Plant
Position Overview
We are seeking qualified Schedulers (Levels I–III) to support planned outage activities at a nuclear power plant. The Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating project and outage schedules to ensure work activities are properly sequenced and coordinated based on equipment availability, manpower, unit conditions, and system requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, project management, and other site organizations to support safe and efficient outage execution. Level placement will be based on the candidate’s overall scheduling experience and nuclear power plant scheduling background.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project and outage schedules.
- Schedule work activities using a Critical Path Maintenance Management System.
- Coordinate work activities based on equipment requirements, manpower availability, unit status, and plant systems.
- Support the planning and scheduling of outage-related maintenance, modification, and project activities.
- Review schedule logic, sequencing, milestones, and work dependencies.
- Monitor schedule progress and update activities as work is completed or conditions change.
- Identify potential schedule conflicts, delays, and resource constraints.
- Coordinate schedule changes with maintenance, operations, engineering, project management, and other plant organizations.
- Support critical path identification and evaluation throughout outage preparation and execution.
- Maintain accurate scheduling information within computerized scheduling and work management systems.
- Prepare schedule reports and status updates for plant and project leadership.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and other computerized programs to support scheduling, reporting, and project coordination.
- Demonstrate the ability to learn and effectively utilize the plant’s Computerized Critical Path Maintenance System.
- Perform scheduling activities in accordance with applicable plant procedures and site requirements.
Qualifications
Scheduler I
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 0–2 years of related scheduling or planning experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computerized applications.
- Ability to learn computerized critical path maintenance and scheduling systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Scheduler II
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–7 years of related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of nuclear power plant scheduling experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized scheduling programs.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and update schedules supporting plant or outage activities.
- Ability to effectively coordinate activities across multiple plant organizations.
Scheduler III
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 6–11 years of related experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of nuclear power plant scheduling experience.
- Advanced knowledge of outage scheduling principles, critical path scheduling, and work coordination.
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex nuclear plant outage schedules.
- Strong ability to identify schedule conflicts, resource constraints, and critical path impacts.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with maintenance, operations, engineering, project management, and site leadership.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience supporting planned nuclear outages.
- Experience with Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.
- Familiarity with nuclear plant maintenance and work management processes.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with computerized scheduling or maintenance management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven nuclear environment.
