ASAP is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector – Water/Wastewater Utilities to support our client on utility infrastructure projects throughout Eastern North Carolina.
This position is ideal for a self-motivated construction professional with experience inspecting water and wastewater utility projects who can work independently in the field with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will serve as the owner's representative during construction, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect water and wastewater utility construction projects for compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and quality standards
- Monitor contractor activities and construction progress in the field
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, project managers, and utility personnel
- Attend pre-construction, progress, and project closeout meetings
- Review and document testing activities, including hydrostatic testing, flushing, chlorination, pressure testing, and related utility inspections
- Maintain daily inspection reports, field documentation, and project records
- Identify construction deficiencies and assist in resolving field issues
- Verify project completion and support project closeout activities
- Promote safe work practices and address safety concerns observed in the field
Qualifications:
- 3 years of construction inspection, utility construction, or related field experience
- Experience with water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of water mains, sewer mains, force mains, lift stations, hydrants, and utility systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications
- Strong understanding of utility construction methods and testing procedures
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Eastern North Carolina
Preferred Qualifications:
- Municipal water/wastewater utility experience
- Construction inspection certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience serving as an Owner's Representative or Resident Project Representative (RPR)
- Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or related education
Salary : $45 - $55
