ASAP is hiring on behalf of our client for an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to join a growing team in Charlotte, NC.
This is an exciting opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer with strong site development experience to lead a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, municipal, and residential projects. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for developing client relationships while mentoring and growing engineering teams.
Position Overview:
The Civil Engineering Project Manager will oversee site/civil engineering efforts from concept through construction, managing project teams, coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies, and ensuring successful project delivery. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of impactful developments while helping drive the continued growth of a highly respected engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead site/civil engineering projects from planning and design through construction and project closeout.
- Design and oversee site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management systems, drainage infrastructure, utility systems, and erosion & sediment control measures.
- Prepare and review stormwater management reports, hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, and SWPPP documentation.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and local/state regulatory agencies.
- Support permitting and entitlement efforts, ensuring all required approvals and submissions are completed.
- Perform QA/QC reviews of engineering plans, reports, and specifications.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, designers, and interns.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development initiatives.
- Represent projects and the firm at client meetings, public meetings, and professional organizations.
- Travel as needed to project sites, client meetings, and company functions.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina or South Carolina.
- Minimum of 6 years of site/civil engineering experience.
- Strong experience with site development projects including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility design, and erosion control.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience preparing stormwater reports and performing hydraulic/hydrologic analyses.
- Knowledge of local, state, and regulatory permitting requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and project management abilities.
Preferred:
- Commercial site development experience.
- Municipal infrastructure project experience.
- Institutional, educational, or residential development experience.
- Client management and business development experience.
- Experience mentoring and leading engineering teams.
- Participation in professional engineering organizations and community involvement.

Salary : $130,000 - $175,000
