This role directly influences the efficient delivery of high‑quality software used by Allied’s internal teams, clients, and customers. Operating with moderate supervision, the Scrum Master concentrates on team‑level execution, performance, and consistent application of Scrum and software development lifecycle practices through both group facilitation and one‑on‑one interactions. The success and complexity they need to address is balancing team maturity, individual capacity, work objectives, and business outcomes to foster continuous improvement and predictable delivery.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
Coach & Train the Team – 30%
- Coaches team members (including Product Owner, Dev Manager, UX, Developers) on Agile fundamentals and team‑level practices.
- Helps resolve team‑level conflicts related to process, communication, or technical approaches.
- Acts as an Agile practitioner that provides guidance on Agile practices with the team.
- Reinforces working agreements, Scrum values, and healthy team dynamics.
- Ensures sprint content is ready (stories refined, acceptance criteria clear, dependencies identified).
- Removes intra‑team blockers and escalates external impediments appropriately.
- Identifies scope creep and helps the team adjust forecasts or metrics accordingly.
- Supports the Product Owner with backlog clarity and prioritization.
- Coordinates with inter-teams to manage dependencies.
- Ensures software development lifecycle steps are followed to reduce downstream quality issues.
- Facilitates retrospectives using basic metrics (velocity, throughput, defects) and other techniques.
- Maintains a backlog of improvement actions and helps the team implement them.
- Tracks progress on experiments and team‑level agility indicators.
- Prepares and facilitates daily scrum and retrospectives.
- Supports the Product Owner in sprint planning (capacity, DOR/DOD, improvement stories).
- Assists with backlog refinement (story pointing, identifying gaps).
- Assists with the I&P sprint (identifying opportunities for training, supporting the planning process with the Product owner and Software Product Manager).
- Contributes to shared training materials created by the Scrum Master community.
- Participates in periodic training sessions for teams across the organization.
- Provides feedback to improve training content.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-4 years of work-related experience.
- 3-4 years of leadership experience.
- At least one Scrum Master certification required: Certified Scrum Master, Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM), Scrum Fundamentals Certified (SFC), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I), Accredited Scrum Master, Professional Scrum with Kanban).
- Preferred certifications: Certified SAFe® 6 Practice Consultant, Certified SAFe 6 Agilist, Certified SAFe®6 Product Owner / Product Manager, Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO I).
- It is preferred that the Scrum Master has prior leadership experience because the role requires influencing team behaviors without relying on authority, coaching individuals and the team toward continuous improvement, and establishing a foundation of trust.
