Role Summary
The Installer Helper is an entry-level position that supports the installation team with preparing materials, assisting on job sites, operating basic tools, and helping safely install illuminated and non-illuminated signage.
We will provide training, including equipment operation basics, safety procedures, and foundational welding skills.
This role offers a development path toward becoming a Lead Installer or Lead Driver for those who demonstrate reliability, mechanical aptitude, and strong teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Field Work
- Assist in installing interior and exterior signage under supervision.
Help with basic tasks such as:
Carrying and positioning sign components
- Drilling, bolting, fastening, and sealing
- Measuring and marking installation locations
Support installation of various sign types, including:
Channel letters
- Wall and cabinet signs
- Freestanding signs
- Custom and directional signs
- LED, fluorescent, and basic electrical components (training provided)
- Assist with basic repairs, part replacement, and cleanup at job sites.
- Learn and support basic welding (welding experience preferred, but not required).
- Assist with mixing/carrying materials for sign footings (cement, sand, Sakrete).
Equipment Operation
- Assist the installer team with loading/unloading tools, ladders, and materials.
- Learn safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices.
- Help maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean, organized condition.
- Participate in training on aerial lifts, forklifts, and other equipment as skills advance.
Material Handling & Job Documentation
- Lift, load, and move materials and signs (up to 50 lbs regularly).
- Assist in staging materials at job sites for safe and efficient workflow.
- Help photograph completed jobs and document work as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License (required).
- Ability to pass a DOT medical exam (no CDL required).
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- U.S. Work Authorization.
- Ability to work outdoors and at heights when required.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Positive attitude and commitment to safety.
- Welding, electrical, or construction experience is a plus
- Basic welding experience (preferred, but not required).
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
- Must comply with all FMCSA regulations, including hours-of-service rules, vehicle inspections, and safe operation standards.
- Must complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document findings accurately.
- Must immediately report any moving violations, accidents, or changes affecting CDL status.
