What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Team Lead position at Allied Reliability?
General Summary This is a 2nd shift position. The Maintenance Team Lead for the plant will work under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Team Lead must know and understand the function of the equipment in the plant from receiving to shipping including production lines. Any safety concerns should be addressed with the Maintenance Supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities
Previous Experience Requirement Minimum two years experience in related field desired. Two years experience in general mechanical repair, preferably machine maintenance. Will accept equivalent combination of experience and education/training. Demonstrated leadership skills. Knowledge and Skills Needed to Perform Effectively in this Position
- Directly lead maintenance workers as directed by the maintenance Manager.
- Ensure that all maintenance employees follow proper safety procedures and wear proper protective equipment as required.
- Ensure that all maintenance employees are in daily compliance with plant GMP’s, safety and sanitation directives.
- Assist Maintenance Manager in completion of performance reviews and the corrective counseling process, including keeping proper documentation.
- Work closely to Production department to troubleshoot maintenance issues.
- Responsible to perform extensive repair on equipment. i.e. conveyors, elevators, bearing etc.
- Respond to requested work orders and complete the required documentation.
- Responsible to assist where needed in case of equipment failure in order to minimize product loss.
- Responsible to perform work which meets an acceptable level of quality i.e. structurally sound welds, proper installation of parts.
- Responsible to perform work which meets an acceptable level of quality i.e. proper installation of parts in accord with manufacturers recommendations.
- Operate forklift safety and adhere to the fork lift safety rules and perform fork lift inspections.
- Responsible to repair forklifts and other vehicles.
- Perform all work in accordance with company standards and established safety procedures.
- Demonstrates positive and a can-do attitude, confidence, endurance and constructively handle conflicts.
- Work alongside others or independently to complete projects
- Following GMP’s and Safety rules.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Experience in food manufacturing.
- Must be able to weld.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment or vehicle failures.
- Have knowledge to perform maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Knowledge of Lock out/Tag out, HACCP, GMP's, Organic Handling Procedures, Allergen Control Program, Food Plant Security, Glass and Hard Plastic, Quality policies and Safety programs. Ensure plant operations are in compliance.
