Position Summary
Working 2nd shift, the Inserter Operator is responsible for running the machine efficiently and accurately to produce high-quality jobs that meet company and customer standards, and USPS regulations.
Essential Functions
- Set up and troubleshoot mail equipment according to job specifications. Examples of department equipment include high-speed inserters and inkjetters. Job responsibilities may include traying, sorting, and metering outgoing mail.
- Follow all Quality Control measures and USPS regulations.
- Be willing to assist with and learn about different functional areas of the department.
- Follow all safety protocols.
- Maintain a consistent workflow and maximize machine efficiency.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work successfully within a team environment as well as independently.
- Willingness to excel and grow within the department.
- Great attention to detail, while managing multiple tasks.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Intermediate mechanical aptitude.
- Intermediate knowledge of and experience in USPS mailing requirements to accurately sort, tray and process postal mailings.
- Intermediate to master skill level of mailing department equipment. Examples of machine type include:
o Pitney Bowes Flowmaster; 6-pocket, 5-way match & exit scanning
o Bell & Howell Producer and Mailstar; 4- and 6-pocket, 5-way match and exit scanning
o Videojet PrintMail Imaging System; addressing, tabbing, label, stamp
Minimum Qualifications
· High School diploma (or equivalent, such as GED)
· One year of experience using one or more of the following machines (or similar): Flowmaster, Inserters, Inkjets, Friction/Rotary Feed Stations, Videojet PrintMail Imaging System, Profold tabber, Seal and Labeler, Pitney Bowes Meter/Mailing
· One year of experience in a job that requires knowledge of USPS mail regulations.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
