Summary
Sprinkler Technician is primarily responsible for servicing, repairing, and replacing Fire Sprinkler products, programming, and repairing fire sprinkler systems to the prescribed standards, identifying code and non-conformance issues and preparing accurate and timely service ticket reports. Candidate performs the full job despite site and weather conditions, is able to work with little supervision, has good communication skills, and is consistently looking out for the customer’s best interest.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Perform fire sprinkler system repairs, TI's, maintenance, and upgrades
· Testing and perform maintenance of fire pumps
· Flow testing and perform maintenance of fire hydrants
· Perform backflow tests and repairs
· Keep tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, etc.
· Complete and produce reports that are legible, accurate and detailed
· Invoice paperwork in a timely manner
· Stay current with code requirements and industry changes
Qualifications:
· Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekend to meet customer needs if needed
· Ability to travel to multiple job sites each day
· Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders multiples times a day
· High precision/ detail-oriented
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work independently, with little supervision
· Knowledge of fire systems and tools
· Does not take short-cuts: work effectively and efficiently while performing all aspects of the required job
Job Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Valid driver’s license with clean record.
· Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekend to meet customer needs
· Able to carry and move tools and equipment up to 50-75 lbs
· Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
