Install / Service Technician

Overview Job Description:

A service/install technician at Allied Equipment is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all types of municipal equipment. This position is required to deliver exceptional service to our customers, through effective communication of issues and solutions while ensuring expectations for time and quality are consistently met.

Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repair:

• Diagnostics: Identify issues in equipment using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and techniques.
• Repairs: Perform repairs on mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems, rebuilding, replacing, fabricating or repairing faulty components as needed.
• Welding and Fabrication: Ability to mig weld mild and stainless steels, use of torches plasma cutter and other shop equipment.
• Installation: Installs dump bodies, plow hitches, hydraulic and electrical systems necessary to complete a municipal dump truck package.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on customer and shop equipment to prevent equipment breakdowns.
• Assist with labor estimates and parts ordering.
• Supply or the ability to acquire own tools necessary to meet job requirements.

Communication:

• Provides helpful, friendly, and responsive customer service, both in person, over the phone and electronically.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment performance.
• Provide guidance on equipment usage and maintenance to customers or team members.

Safety Compliance:

· Ensure all repairs and maintenance adhere to safety standards and regulations.

· Maintain a clean and organized work area.

· Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.

Travel:

· Maintain valid driver’s license, CDL preferred.

· Travel to customer locations for troubleshooting, repair and training.

· Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Other:

· Perform other tasks as assigned, including but not limited to, shop clean up delivering parts and equipment and maintaining the facility.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong technical knowledge of machinery and equipment.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Relevant certifications or training in equipment repair.
• Commitment to 100% customer satisfaction.
• Strong work ethic, with proven exemplary attendance.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally at all times.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 47.5 per week

Work Location: In person
