About the Role:

This is an overnight full time role from 9:00pm-5:00am Monday to Friday with a 10%-night differential

The Accessioner Client Services role is pivotal in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of patient specimens within a healthcare setting. This position serves as a critical liaison between clients, healthcare providers, and laboratory personnel to facilitate seamless accessioning and tracking of samples. The successful candidate will manage the intake, verification, and documentation of specimens, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational protocols. By maintaining meticulous records and addressing client inquiries promptly, the Accessioner Client Services professional supports the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services. Ultimately, this role contributes to patient care by enabling timely and precise laboratory testing through effective client communication and specimen management.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and log incoming patient specimens, verifying accuracy of accompanying documentation and patient information.
  • Coordinate with clients and healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies or incomplete information related to specimen submissions.
  • Maintain detailed records of specimen accessioning activities, ensuring compliance with laboratory and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively with internal laboratory teams to prioritize specimen processing and address any client concerns.
  • Assist in training new staff on accessioning procedures and client service protocols to uphold quality and efficiency.

The required skills enable the Accessioner Client Services professional to accurately process and document patient specimens, ensuring data integrity and compliance with healthcare regulations. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively liaising with clients and internal teams to resolve issues and provide exceptional service. Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare or laboratory environment, particularly in specimen handling or client services.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately verify and document patient and specimen information.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory information systems (LIS) or similar data management software.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients, healthcare providers, and team members.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in medical laboratory assisting or related accreditation.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Experience working in a high-volume clinical laboratory setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory testing procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
