What are the responsibilities and job description for the Propane Delivery Driver - West Salem position at Allied Cooperative?
Primary Objectives of Position:
- The Propane Bobtail driver’s responsibilities involve delivery, service, safety, maintenance, reporting and other duties as assigned by management.
- Uphold all Cooperative policies including CTEP training and NFPA code.
- Maintain CDL license with required endorsements.
- Observe OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Maintain a positive attitude that promotes team work within the cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative.
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Assist in maintaining compliance by completing yearly, monthly and daily DOT, NFPA and Allied Cooperative compliance and reporting paperwork.
- Ensure no product problems result due to your recommendation or installation
- Attend all product updates and service training sessions
- Lose no customer due to careless performance
- Ensure all customers are informed of safe handling procedures
- Follow Optimizer delivery routes as assigned by Director of Propane
- Visually check customer’s tank and system upon delivery
- Use extreme caution while driving in customers’ yards; drive slowly and watch for children, pets, animals, toys, flower beds, hedges, and lawns.
- Avoid damage to customers’ buildings and property when positioning for unloading
- Observe and report any unusual activity, problems, and customers’ complaints to your supervisor
- Do not extend credit to patrons who have not been approved by the credit manager
Qualifications:
- Maintain CDL license with required endorsements / Clean MVR.
- CTEP Certification 1.0 / 2.2
- Team Player – working well with others.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 70 pounds, have full use of arms, legs and good finger dexterity.
- Must be able to climb stairs, reach above and at shoulder level, and work on or with moving machinery, at unprotected heights, in temperature extremes and outside.
- Exposure to propane and refined fuels.
