Position Overview
We are seeking a Junior-to-Mid-Level Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA) with approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience to support Oracle database environments and modern database deployment processes.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Oracle database administration along with exposure to CI/CD, database deployment, automation, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must currently reside within the Washington, DC metropolitan area (DC/MD/VA) and be available for occasional onsite visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day Oracle database administration, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Support database availability, performance, security, backup, recovery, and capacity management.
- Monitor database health and proactively identify and resolve performance or operational issues.
- Support database upgrades, patching, migrations, and configuration activities.
- Develop and maintain database deployment processes and documentation.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support application releases.
- Participate in CI/CD and automated database deployment pipelines.
- Support database changes using source control and automated deployment tools.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues across development, test, and production environments.
- Maintain appropriate database documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Support automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of relevant Oracle DBA experience.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle database administration.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field.
- Strong understanding of database administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance management.
- Ability to work the required Saturday–Tuesday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule.
- Must currently reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, including DC, Maryland, or Virginia.
- Ability to report onsite in Washington, DC or Sterling, VA approximately 1–2 times per quarter.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to maintain or obtain the required U.S. security clearance.
CI/CD & Database Deployment
Experience with modern DevOps and database deployment technologies is highly desirable, including:
